The ARS Story
1986 - Present Day
A Humble Beginning: One Man, One Vision
In the mid 1980s, Frank Nedza founded ARS in his garage, armed with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide reliable technical solutions for local restaurants.

Four Decades of Evolution
Over the past 38 years, Associated Restaurant Services, Inc. (ARS) has undergone four major transformations, each marking a new chapter of growth, innovation, and expertise:

From Handyman to Commercial Kitchen Design
It all began with a driven man, his tools, and a small family garage in the NJ suburbs. Frank Nedza had a knack for fixing things and a deep understanding of restaurant equipment. He started by repairing food and beverage equipment for local restaurants, quickly earning the respect of the local restaurant community. This success led him to expand his services, designing and installing commercial kitchens that set new standards for functionality and efficiency.
Refurbishing Our Way to the Future
Frank’s innovative vision for saving companies money by refurbishing kitchen equipment caught the attention of Procter & Gamble. His commitment to quality drove demand and led to exponential growth. Outgrowing his garage, Frank moved ARS into a 4,000-square-foot facility. Yet, even that wasn’t enough.
This opportunity became the catalyst for building a larger, more thoughtfully designed space—a 10,000-square-foot facility with easy access and soaring ceilings. This has been ARS’s home base ever since, serving as the foundation for the company’s expanding operations.
Facilities Maintenance: Playing the Long Game
As times changed, so did ARS. After nearly 15 successful years of refurbishing for Procter & Gamble, that chapter came to an end. Fortunately, Frank was already one step ahead. By strengthening relationships with local franchises like TGI Fridays & Bennigan's, ARS seamlessly pivoted to preventative and reactive facilities maintenance services in the early 2000s. This shift positioned ARS to meet a growing need, helping brands minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Retail Construction & Renovations: A New Era
In recent years, under the leadership of Ryan Nedza, ARS has embraced its latest transformation. Anticipating industry trends, Ryan guided the company into its next evolution: retail construction, renovations, and capital projects. Today, ARS partners with some of the world’s most influential food and beverage brands, supporting aggressive expansion efforts and large-scale renovations. While facilities maintenance remains a cornerstone, ARS has firmly established itself as a leader in building and transforming retail spaces.

Generations Strong
A New Chapter: 2nd Generation Leadership
Ryan Nedza grew up immersed in ARS, doing odd jobs as kid (sand blasting machines & foam packing boxes) but didn't officially join the company until the early 2000s.
Learning the business from the ground up he began to take on more and more responsibility and in 2018, Ryan stepped into the role of President, bringing a fresh perspective while honoring the company’s legacy.
Under his leadership, ARS has aligned and organized through streamlined processes, procedures and technology. His vision and drive secured ARS a role a top rated vendor for Starbucks which we still maintain 17 years later.
